The village is the oldest and prettiest of the five villages that make up the Skiing and snowboarding resort of Tignes in the huge Espace Killy ski area. A bubble and a four man lift located in the village fully integrates Tignes les Brévières with the rest of the Espace Killy ski area. The original village of Tignes les Brévières straddles the summer road which winds through the village and then higher up the mountain to Tignes la Lac. In the Winter the road is closed after it passes through the village and becomes the blur piste back to the village. This creates a "pedestrian" feel to the lower village and adds to the charm.

Many of the new chalets have been built higher up the hillside and although in keeping with the village these involve a hard walk to the slopes so be sure to choose your Tignes les Brevieres ski chalet from one on the quiet main road.
